Only two Mondays left this year

The temperature tried and tried but couldn't get above -6.1°C over here. It should keep going up slowly for the next day. And we might even see the sun tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in the rest of the world:

• Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, has been arrested following the stabbing death of his parents.
• In response to the Reiners' deaths, the OAFPOTUS posted some truly deranged crap on social media, further demonstrating how he's completely lost it.
• Brian Beutler (and a lot of the rest of us) wonder if Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) is the right person to take over as Speaker of the House next January.
• The Australian government cannot get its head around the mass shooting at a Chanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach over the weekend. (And yes, the suspects are exactly who you'd expect.)
• Matt Yglesias is coming around to the Netflix-Warner Bros. merger as the lesser of two evils. Krugman thinks both evils are pretty evil.
• There actually are places in the US where it's faster to take a train than drive, just...not a lot of them, and they're almost all on the Acela Corridor.

Well, here's hoping for a warmer, and I hope less-insane, Tuesday...
